Welcome to the summer 2019 edition of RTSO Airwaves!

While some of the work we do may be taken at a more leisurely pace over the summer, please be assured that the RTSO is diligently working to advocate for you and remains very active as the voice of the profession in Ontario, promoting the role and interests of the profession across ALL sectors of the healthcare system. This great work is highlighted in our President’s Message, Executive Director’s update and in the many Committee reports found in every issue.

Our membership drive continues…membership matters!  Each membership will grow our capacity to provide a voice in professional advocacy.  Our volunteer Board and Committee Members ensure we are participating and providing our perspective on a vast array of health care policies that directly impact our profession. Let’s be #RTStrOng and move this profession forward through Ontario’s health care transformation agenda.

Our website has undergone a refresh and redesign with a new Membership Works platform, and with this platform, RTSO Airwaves has also undergone a transformation with the Summer 2019 issue.

We are also busy planning the Leadership Summit (October 18) and INSPIRE conference (October 19).  Further details can be found in the Continuing Education section of this issue.

As always, we’d love to hear from you!  Feedback, suggestions, and submissions are welcome.  Submission criteria are found on our website at

We wish everyone a safe, happy and healthy summer! May you enjoy some sunshine, rest and relaxation, and of course some summer fun with the people and things that bring you the most joy!
