The Student Affairs Committee is excited to announce and welcome new first year members. A meeting has been held to introduce everyone, outline the role of the SAC, and explore what the RTSO is all about. The SAC has now welcomed 2 new student Co-Chairs: Julia Chiarcos from St. Clair College, and Jayde Thompson from Canadore College. The SAC plans to alternate student Co-Chairs every 6-8 weeks to give all interested students a chance at this leadership role. For this term, the new student Co-Chairs were welcomed by previous student Co-Chairs Carissa Coghill and Jarrod Paul, as well as Faculty SAC Co-Chairs Wendy Foote and Greg Donde. Helpful advice and support was shared!
The SAC planned and recently hosted a webinar through the RTSO called Launch Your Career: Insights from Experts. This webinar consisted of a diverse 4 person panel of experts in the respiratory therapy community who shared their collective wisdom about resume building and formatting, interviewing, and how to make a career impression. Webinars such as this are very advantageous for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd year students, in order to help prepare them for a successful entry into their career, and we were pleased to be able to provide students will the opportunity to participate and ask questions at the end of the presentations.
