For the RTSO’s social media, the past year was a demonstration of the important work of respiratory therapists at the front lines, in leadership, education, advocacy and much more.
The Social Media team also had the opportunity to communicate the outcomes of the interprofessional collaborations between the RTSO and other organizations, to better tackle the pandemic. The communication included the posts and videos of politicians with whom the RTSO had connected with to advocate for respiratory therapists during this pandemic. This simplified graph shows the growth of our followers across various social media platforms, showing how the profession has become more well known and how RT’s are engaging more with the RTSO online!
The end of 2020 also marks the end of my three years of volunteering with the organization as a Director and the social media lead. There is an impressive team still in place who will continue to represent the RTs of Ontario. The social media team has benefited from collaboration with many individuals. I would like to bring attention the support of Gino De Pinto and the creative and wonderful work of Susan Aikenhead. It has been truly an honour volunteering with RTSO. To keep this short, I would like to encourage you to be positive, professional, proud and courteous when it comes to your online approach of educating friends, family and the public about the wonderful contributions of respiratory therapists.
Regards,
