Professional Liability Insurance (PLI) – 02.13.25

All Ontario Respiratory Therapists are strongly encouraged to purchase their own Professional Liability Insurance. While we hope that it is never needed, PLI provides essential protection in the event that you are named in a lawsuit, face a patient or family member’s complaint, or experience job loss with an associated mandatory report to the CRTO.

Individually purchasing PLI can be expensive, often costing hundreds of dollars. However, thanks to our collective purchasing power, we are able to negotiate significantly lower rates.

We are currently negotiating the pricing for the 2025-2026 coverage period (April 1, 2025 – March 31, 2026). You will be notified via email when it is time to log in and select either the $2M or $5M coverage option. Additionally, all relevant information will be posted on our website, which will soon undergo an update.
