RTSO Manager of Operations Position

The RTSO is seeking a Manager of Operations 8-10 hours per week for a 6-month contract, with the opportunity for extension at the end of the period. We require an individual with strong leadership and communication skills to oversee the day-to-day activities of our not-for-profit, volunteer organization. The individual will help the organization to be more effective, build capability and increase communications with our members. This opportunity may be ideal for you if you have 8-10 hours per week available and want to make a difference for our profession of Respiratory Therapists in Ontario. 

Manager of Operations responsibilities include: 

  • Manage day-to-day operations of RTSO
    • Working collaboratively & regularly communicating with President & President-elect
    • Follow up on action items/goals/objectives with BOD
    • Develop agendas for Operations and BOD meetings
    • Manage central event calendar
    • Maintain OneDrive folders/permissions etc.
  • Direct inquiries and mail (i.e., Government & Stakeholder requests)
  • Prepare responses, documents as needed
    • Develop and maintain Terms of Reference for BOD in collaboration with the Secretary
  • Work with the Secretary to ensure the organization is compliant with ONCA
  • Manage corporate memberships (in collaboration with Secretary)
  • Attend CORPHA and MOH Collaboration Table meetings (quarterly)
  • Lead planning committee for annual INSPIRE conference
  • Work with President in planning of Annual General Meeting
  • Lead new Director orientation (in collaboration with the Secretary)
  • Attend Operations & Board meetings (non-voting member) 2 mtgs/month

Qualifications:

  • Must be current member of RTSO
  • Must be a member in good standing with the CRTO
  • Minimum of 5yrs experience in clinical practice preferred
  • Leadership/management experience preferred
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to delegate responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.) preferred
  • Training in negotiation skills an asset
  • Project management skills an asset

Salary: This position will be paid hourly, in line with experience and fair market value.
