The RTSO is currently working with our insurance broker to negotiate the best possible rate for PLI coverage for the next policy period, April 1, 2026 to March 31, 2027.
We will have PLI available to purchase for next policy period in March 2026.
While RTSO memberships operate on a rolling basis—allowing you to join at any time with a 12-month membership period—the insurance provider requires coverage to align with a fixed 12-month term. Unfortunately, this timeline is set by the insurer and is outside of RTSO’s control.

Option 1: $2M Liability – $55.00
Cost is $55 + $7.15 PST = $62.15, plus handling fee of $3.80 + HST = $4.29 TOTAL = $66.44
Insurance coverage is valid from November 1, 2025, or date of purchase, to March 31, 2026.
Professional Liability & Indemnity Insurance coverage includes, but is not limited, to the following:
- $2M/incident / $4M aggregate
- Nil Deductible Disciplinary Defense
- Annual Aggregate Criminal Defense Reimbursement
- $200,000 Annual Aggregate
- Sexual Abuse Counselling & Rehabilitation: $20,000/eligible person as defined under the Health Professions Procedural Code (Section 85.7(4) of the Code)
Option 2: $5M Liability – $88.00
Cost is $88 + $11.44 PST = $99.44 plus handling fee of $6.08 + HST = $6.87 TOTAL = $106.31
Insurance coverage is valid from November 1, 2025, or date of purchase, to March 31, 2026.
- Professional Liability & Indemnity Insurance coverage: $5M/incident, $5M aggregate
- Nil Deductible Disciplinary Defense
- Annual Aggregate Criminal Defense Reimbursement
- Sexual Abuse Counselling & Rehabilitation: $20,000/eligible person as defined under the Health Professions Procedural Code (Section 85.7(4) of the Code)
- Annual Aggregate Legal Representation Expenses
