Hello fellow RTSO members!
My name is Jacqueline Wilcox, and I’m a recent graduate of the Respiratory Therapy program at The Michener Institute in Toronto, ON. I graduated with an Hon. BHSc. from Western University in 2014 and worked as a research assistant for almost 3 years before returning to school in 2017. Over the past 3 years, through my education at Michener and clinical placement at University Health Network (UHN), my passion for the field of Respiratory Therapy and interest in advocating for and educating others on our role in the healthcare system has grown.
I am currently working as an RRT at McMaster Children’s Hospital in the NICU and casually at Toronto General Hospital.
Although starting my career amidst a pandemic was not exactly what I had envisioned, this time in the workforce has only strengthened my interest in professional advocacy. Our profession has recently been given an incredible opportunity to shed light on the work that Respiratory Therapists do. I look forward to participating in the work the RTSO will do in the next few years!
