Welcome to 2021’s first issue of RTSO Airwaves! This edition of RTSO Airwaves introduces the new Board of Directors and Committee members. We’ve also included a year in review for reflection on our many accomplishments as a volunteer organization, highlights from RT Week 2020, and some fantastic student submissions received relating to neonatal and pediatric respiratory care as well as COVID-19.
While I have stepped down from my 6-year tenor in a Director position, I will be continuing on as volunteer Editor of RTSO Airwaves for a while longer, but the time to pass the torch grows near! Please reach out if volunteer networking and editorial work is of interest to you, or if you have ideas or questions: AirwavesEditor@rtso.ca
Our membership campaign is now underway as well. As you read through our publication, you will see some of the many reasons why membership with the RTSO matters. I encourage all of you to support the RTSO through maintaining membership and sharing the great work that we do with others in order to recruit new members. You can also volunteer your time or share your expertise, stories, successes, concerns and/or your vision with us! We are here for you and we want to hear what matters to you! You make your provincial professional association stronger. It is through this collective strength that representation at many tables is possible, and membership makes a difference in having our voiced heard! #RTStrOng #AspireToInspire
May the New Year fill your life with great achievements, both personally and professionally. Take care of yourself as you take care of others, embrace love, embrace hope, and continue to shine!
Be well,
Shawna
