RTSO EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
ROLE DESCRIPTION

The Executive Director is responsible for the successful leadership and management of the organization according to the strategic direction set by the Board of Directors.

Duties and Responsibilities

Leadership

  • Work collaboratively & regularly communicating with President & President-elect
  • Participate with the Board of Directors in developing a vision and strategic plan to guide the organization.
  • Act as a professional advisor to the Board of Directors on all aspects of the organization’s activities.
  • Conduct official correspondence on behalf of the Board as appropriate and jointly with the Board when appropriate.
  • Communicates in a manner that enhances the reputation of the organization.
  • Represent the RTSO at CORPHA and other MOH Collaboration Table meetings.

Operational planning and management

  • Develop an operational plan which incorporates goals and objectives that work towards the strategic direction of the organization.
  • Oversee the efficient and effective day-to-day operation of the organization.
  • Ensure that the Organization and members files are securely stored, and privacy/confidentiality is maintained.
  • Work with the Secretary to ensure the organization is compliant with ONCA.
  • Work with Secretary to Develop agendas for AGM, Operations and BOD meetings.

Financial planning and management

  • Assist the Executive members of the Board in preparing a comprehensive annual budget.
  • Approve expenditures within the authority delegated by the Board.
  • Work with Treasurer and accounting group to maintain bookkeeping and accounting for the organization.
  • Ensure that the organization complies with all legislation covering taxation.

Qualifications

  • Excels in innovative leadership, management, and financial organization.
  • Minimum five years of experience in a respiratory therapy leadership role
  • Provincial and/or national professional associations leadership experience
  • Highly effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Minimum education requirement: Advanced Diploma in respiratory therapy
  • Must be current member of RTSO.

Compensation: The salary package for this position will be competitive and determined based on experience and qualifications.
