The RTSO is seeking applications for the Director at Large and  Education Director volunteer positions with the Board of Directors.

 

RTSO Director at Large

Position Overview         

We are seeking a Director at Large to join the RTSO leadership team. The Director at Large plays an important role in promoting the mission and values of the RTSO and is a strategic liaison with the RTSO Board of Directors, other RTSO committees and outside stakeholder groups.

The Director at Large is a member of the RTSO Board of Directors and is expected to attend Board meetings, and any other meetings requested by the President or President-Elect. This position will commence immediately, until December 31, 2024, which can be extended for up to two terms or a maximum of 6 years. The time commitment for meetings is between 3 to 12 hours per month.

Position Duties include:

  • Provide leadership and actively work with the BOD on developing a strategic plan to further the interest of RTSO and its members.

  • Accountable to the Board of Directors and provide updates as it pertains to advocacy and strategic planning

  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors, and RTSO members to better understand the needs of the profession and continue to ensure that the focus and strategic goals of the RTSO align with what is important to the working RTs in Ontario

  • Assist in other RTSO BOD led initiatives, workshops, webinars, educational sessions, etc.

  • The Director at Large will not miss more than 3 Board meetings per calendar year, held monthly.

  • Attend other meetings that need a representative at the request of the RTSO President or President Elect (e.g. with the Ministry of Health)

The successful candidate will:

  • Be in good standing with the RTSO and the CRTO.

  • Be prepared to support the vision and mission of the RTSO

  • Be prepared to enforce and follow the RTSO bylaws, policies and procedures, and any governing legislation for non-profit organizations.

  • Possess experience in strategic planning, and organizational leadership

  • Possess exceptional communication skills and ability to work collaboratively

  • Possess a proven track record of success in leading teams.

RTSO Education Director

Position Overview         

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Education Director to lead the development, implementation, and assessment of all educational programs within the RTSO. The Education Director plays an important role in promoting the mission and values of the RTSO and is a strategic liaison with the RTSO Board of Directors, other RTSO committees and outside stakeholder groups. The Education Director is a member of the RTSO Board of Directors and is expected to attend Board meetings, and any other meetings requested by the President or President-Elect. This position will commence immediately, until December 31, 2024, which can be extended for up to two terms or a maximum of 6 years. The time commitment for meetings is between 3 to 12 hours per month.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education, instructional design, and program development. They should also possess exceptional leadership skills, a passion for teaching and learning, and a commitment to promoting equity and inclusion.

Position Duties include:

  • Develop and implement a strategic plan for all educational programs, including curriculum design, delivery methods, and assessment strategies

  • Collaborate with RTSO members, BOD and stakeholders to integrate educational programs with other organizational initiatives.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in education and instructional design, and use this knowledge to inform program development.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key partners and stakeholders, including schools, community organizations

  • Assist in other RTSO BOD led initiatives, workshops, webinars, educational sessions, etc.

  • Attend other meetings that need a representative at the request of the RTSO President or President Elect (e.g. with the Ministry of Health). The Education Director will not miss more than 3 Board meetings per calendar year, held monthly.
