Welcome to the Fall 2020 edition of RTSO Airwaves!

Some fantastic RTSO work is highlighted in the Executive Message and in the many Committee and Interest Group updates found in every issue. The Fall issue contains information on community RTs and shifting roles and ways of practicing in a pandemic.  From our Leadership Committee to our Social Media Report, great work is happening through our team of RTSO volunteers!  The Research Interest Group have provided another couple of great reads – a Research 101 article on P-values by Tara Fowler, and an article submitted by Samira Fard on Re-exploring Non-Invasive Ventilation.  Student Affairs provides us with an update, and several students have submitted some pretty amazing articles – we do hope they get you thinking!

As we move into wave 2, let’s continue to learn from one another, sharing our successes, challenges and new opportunities that are evolving as information and practices adapt with experience and new evidence.  We continue to shine and are truly a strong, resilient and proud profession! Be sure to shine a light on our profession through RT Week 2020 (October 25-31).  Tag us on your posts or use #RTSO.  Be sure to follow our social media platforms to learn about events or activities during #RTWeek2020.  The CN Tower will be lit in RTSO colours of purple and orange on the evening of October 26.  Be sure to check it out!  As always, we do accept RT Week submissions for the Winter issue (submission deadline for these is December 04, 2020; other winter edition submission are due by January 15, 2021), so please consider sharing!

You inspire and are worth celebrating!  Thank you for all that you do!

Stay safe and be well,

Shawna
