President Elect Job description
Position Overview
The President Elect holds a pivotal role within the RTSO Board of Directors, contributing significantly to the organization’s efficient operation. Accountable to the Board of Directors and membership, this position entails advising and supporting The President in various initiatives and activities upon request. In the President’s absence or incapacitation, the President Elect assumes responsibilities and exercises powers accordingly. This is a one-year term position, followed by a subsequent two-year term as President and a final one-year term as Past President.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively participate in organizational management, including attendance at Board meetings, Executive meetings, and other relevant gatherings as designated by the President.
- Ensure consistent attendance at monthly Board meetings, with no more than three absences per calendar year.
- Time commitment for meetings ranges between 3 to 12 hours per month.
- Collaborate in the planning and execution of the annual strategic planning meeting.
- Advocate for the profession at the Provincial Ministry Level.
- Engage in public promotion efforts to elevate the profession’s visibility.
Qualifications:
- Active membership in good standing with both the RTSO and the CRTO.
- Enthusiasm and passion for the respiratory therapy profession.
- Strong commitment to professional development and growth within the field.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new challenges.
