Primary Care Salary Compensation Initiative – Phase 2
The RTSO is joining our partners in primary care – the Association of Family Health Teams of Ontario (AFHTO), the Association of Ontario Health Centres (AOHC) and the Nurse Practitioners Association of Ontario (NPAO) – in Phase 2 of their Primary Care Salary Compensation advocacy initiative. As integral members of primary care interdisciplinary teams, it is important that our voice is heard. Working together with our primary care partners will provide a consistent, reinforced message to the Ministry.
At the beginning of February 2017, AOHC together with AFHTO and NPAO launched the retention and recruitment campaign calling for fair and equitable funding for interprofessional primary health care teams like the ones working at AOHC member centres. The goal is to secure a commitment in the 2017 Budget of $130 million annualized, with an implementation over 2 years. It is a time sensitive campaign as the budget announcement is expected at the end of March.
