Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP)
The NRP Provider and Renewal courses are offered to all health care professionals involved in the care of the newborn. Our participants work in a variety of areas including OBS, ER, Pediatrics, NICU and PACU. This course is taught based on the guidelines established by the American & Canadian Paediatric Societies.
The learner must prepare in advance by reviewing the Textbook of Neonatal Resuscitation 5th Edition and CD ROM prior to the course. Small group, scenario-based learning is used in the hands on component of this program. Ample time is allotted for questions as well as hands-on practice, to assist the learner in becoming more familiar with the material and use of the specialized equipment.
Participants are registered through the Canadian Paediatric Society once the written test and practical skill stations have been successfully completed.
The Canadian Paediatric Society also offers online testing for those requiring basic NRP certification but the learner requires further practical evaluation by a certified NRP instructor in order to become certified. For further information on this, please refer to the Canadian Paediatric Society Website. http://www.cps.ca/en/
What to Expect:
- A relaxed learning environment
- Ample practice time at skills stations
- A written test which reflects the Canadian ILCOR revisions to NRP
- Since the CPS provides the certificates, they will not be issued on the same day of the course.
This course is offered by “Emergency Training Associates Inc.”
