Communications Working Group (CWG)
The Communications Working Group was founded in 2003. The group was formed to bring the RTSO and the CRTO together to raise awareness of the Respiratory Therapy Profession.
PURPOSE:
The College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario (CRTO) and the Respiratory Therapy Society of Ontario (RTSO) work together to generate public awareness about the profession of Respiratory Therapy in the province of Ontario through the implementation of our joint Strategic Communications Plan.
Objectives:
- To build name recognition for the regulated profession of respiratory therapy in Ontario
- To foster awareness about when and where the services of respiratory therapists are used by delivering our key messages to our target audiences.
- To promote an understanding about how RRTs function as part of Ontario’s health care team.
- To raise awareness about the different roles of the CRTO and the RTSO
A FEW RECENT PROJECTS:
- Created and annually updated brochures and a video highlighting the profession.
- Held annual RT week photo contest and produced the winning photos into an RT week poster.
- Provided RT week info packages including creation of a media kit for contacting your local media.
- Had many opportunities to speak at High Schools, and Colleges around the Province, and annually attended the Guidance Councillors Career Fair.
- Had information booths at events at the Rogers Centre and Air Canada.
- Met in person with all LHIN’s as they were being initiated in the Province.
